Weird noises coming from the shocks and forks. This is a sign that it may need to be replaced. The damper oil needs to be replaced if the rear shocks are slurping or swishing.
I don't know if my mountain bike forks need servicing
It feels wet. If the internal tube of your fork appears to be dry, you will need to open it, clean it, and replace the oil and seals. The fork or shock can feel harsh.
How do you know if your forks are damaged?
You can tell if your fork seals are leaking by wiping the lower part of the forks with a clean cloth. Take your bike out for a spin once the forks are clean. There is a chance that the fork seals need to be replaced if you notice oil around the forks at the end of your ride.

Some indicators for basic bath oil/seal service are leaking around seals, excessive oily dirt build up on top of seals that reappears on every ride, and visible wear on stanchions.

Oil drips onto your front wheel when your fork seals leak. The fork oil will leak onto your brake pads. The ability to stop your front wheel when you apply your brakes is non-existent when your brakes become too lubricated.

Yes. The forks will come apart if the bolt is not pulled out. Put a seal in with a fork seal driver. Pull the cap and separate from the cartridge to set the fork oil level.

Can wd40 be used on bike forks?
